Rain on your trip? The right GORE-TEX motorcycle gear makes weather protection part of your riding outfit. Here is what the membrane does, how to choose a KLIM jacket and how to care for it.
Three benefits for your rides
Waterproof
The membrane keeps rain out. Fastenings and vents need to be properly closed.
Windproof
Helps reduce cooling from the wind as you ride. Suitable clothing layers provide the warmth you need.
Breathable
Water vapour can escape to the outside. Extra ventilation still matters in warm weather and during exertion.

What to check before choosing
GORE-TEX describes weather protection. Abrasion resistance and impact protection depend on each jacket’s outer fabric, construction and armour. Also check fit, ventilation and room for an insulating midlayer.
GORE-TEX care: clean, then restore water repellency if needed
Waterproofing and water repellency have different jobs: the membrane keeps water out, while the repellent finish helps droplets roll off the outer fabric. A soaked outer fabric does not automatically mean the membrane is leaking.
1. Clean gently
S100 Technical Wash 300 ml removes dirt and odours from technical clothing and is suitable for fabrics with breathable membranes.
2. Restore water beading
S100 Waterproofing Spray 300 ml renews the outer fabric’s water-repellent protection while preserving membrane breathability. It does not repair a damaged membrane.

Always follow the garment care label and the care product instructions. Do not use fabric softener; only apply heat if the care label allows it.
